A turning milling compound machine tool is capable of performing rotating workpiece operations (turning) and rotating tool operations, such as milling and cross drilling. The machine is typically recognized as a horizontal or vertical lathe and can use a spindle for milling and drilling at some or all tool positions. Parts that require various operations can be machined in one device, especially if the secondary spindle allows the parts to be transferred from one spindle to another during the machining process^ The recently launched economical turning and milling composite machine tool, namely the walking machine, has transformed from a lathe design to something more like a hybrid machine tool - combining the chuck and spindle of the lathe with the stroke and milling power of the machining center.
It is a universal multitasking double saddle CNC lathe designed to reduce installation time, improve accuracy, and reduce non cutting time to a minimum. The lathe provides a platform for long-term rigidity and precision, and can process dense parts such as aerospace, automotive, petroleum/energy, medical, and construction.
The machine tool is capable of processing a diameter of 25.6 inches and a bed length of 39.4 inches, featuring intelligent technology and various efficiency characteristics from Hiroshi Ohnuma. The optional five axis machining can be used for complex milling operations. It is also equipped with OSP-p300 control and a 19 inch display, as well as OSP kit and ECO kit applications.
