Laser cutting has a high degree of flexibility, fast cutting speed, high production efficiency, and short product production cycle, which has won a wide range of markets for customers. Laser cutting has no cutting force, no processing deformation; no tool wear, and good material adaptability; whether it is a simple or complex part, it can be cut with laser precision rapid prototyping at one time; its slit is narrow, the cutting quality is good, the degree of automation is high, the operation is simple, the labor intensity is low, and there is no pollution; it can realize automatic cutting layout and nesting, which improves the material utilization rate, low production cost, and good economic benefits. The effective life of this technology is long. At present, most sheets with a thickness of more than 2 millimeters are cut by laser. Many foreign experts agree that the next 30 to 40 years will be the golden age for the development of laser processing technology (the direction of Sheet Metal Processing development).
In general, it is recommended to use laser cutting for cutting non-metallic materials such as carbon steel plates within 20mm, stainless steel plates within 10mm, and acrylic and wood plates.
There are many factors to consider in the selection of a laser cutting machine. In addition to considering the maximum size, material, maximum thickness to be cut, and the size of the raw material format of the currently processed workpiece, more needs to be considered in the future development direction. For example, the maximum size of the workpiece to be processed after the technological modification of the product, the width of the material provided by the steel market, which is the most efficient for your own product, the loading and unloading time, and so on.
